Brandon Lang

The subject of the Universal Pictures biopic Two for the Money, Brandon Lang is a renowned expert in sports handicapping. As a professional in this field, Lang closely monitors the world of sports and, using research, intuition, and experience, predicts outcomes of competitive athletic events, providing valuable and well-reasoned information to sports bettors throughout the country.

In the film Two for the Money, Matthew McConaughey plays Brandon Lang and follows his career in the world of sports gambling. Based on his life, the plot chronicles Lang’s multi-year winning streak in the industry. Al Pacino and Rene Russo also star as his mentor and his mentor’s wife, respectively.

Brandon Lang, with Stanley Cohen, wrote the book Beating the Odds: The Rise, Fall, and Resurrection of a Sports Handicapper. In Lang’s voice, the book covers his early career and introduction to handicapping in Las Vegas, Nevada; the making of Two for the Money; and his current work as a professional handicapper. On The Travel Channel program Brandon Lang Bets the World, Lang journeys to remote destinations with $10,000, where he finds unusual competitions to which he applies his considerable expertise. Some events handicapped by Lang on the show include a haggis-eating contest, a fruit-basket race, and a caber-toss event.

Despite the fame that surrounds Brandon Lang, he remains unwavering in his commitment to his profession. He continues providing customers with rigorously researched picks as well as information to help clients make informed betting decisions. He enjoys knowing that his success equates to favorable outcomes for his clients.

A native of Midland, Michigan, Lang always made sports his top priority. He acquired the skill and motivation to play basketball at the college level, but a knee injury made such a pursuit impossible. This temporary setback did not diminish his love of the game, and ultimately he diverted his focus to mastering the art of handicapping.
